What we do
At the Ealing Parent Carer Forum, we want to work together to improve the services and care for children and young people who have disabilities and/or special needs.
How we work
Our team is made up of a number of people who have personal experience caring for and working with those who have disabilities and/or additional needs (commonly referred to as SEND) so we really understand how important it is to be able to access the services and care you need.
There are many ways we get together to share our views and experiences, along with many more ways we get involved with the local council and service providers. You can find some examples of what we do below.
At EPCF, we:
- host and attend meetings with commissioners and leaders in: social care, health and education.
- host and attend coffee mornings, school events, meetings, support groups, conferences and information events on a wide range of topics such as:
- personal budgets
- travel training
- school transitions and admissions guidance
- wellbeing and self-care
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
- are involved in recruitment meetings, preparation and interviews for roles which impact those with disabilities and/or learning disabilities across the borough such as those working in SEND roles in schools, Occupational Therapists, Education, Health and Care Coordinators, Clinical Service Leads, and more;
- offer training and support over a variety of subjects for parents and professionals;
- conduct research, focus groups and surveys to better understand our families so that we can represent their needs to the best of our abilities.
Whether you’re looking for more general guidance or have a specific query, whether you’re looking for a friendly ear to talk through an issue or to be pointed towards a useful service, we’re here to help and we’d love to hear from you.
